Dragonflies
Dragonflies are symbols of prosperity, good luck, strength, peace, harmony, and purity.
Dragonflies have inhabited the earth for over 250 million years. I find it fascinating how their wings work. Their four wings work independently of each other which allows it to maneuver in mid-air. They can hover, fly forwards, backwards, and sideways whenever they need to! Dragonflies have incredible vision that allows them to see almost every angle except directly behind them.
Fun fact…….. a dragonfly nymph (beginning stage of a dragonfly) breathes through its anus!

My Watch Find!!!
Great blog!

Spent a couple hours in the ballpark today. I’m really getting use to this Safari metal detector, quarters, dimes & pennies are fairly easy reads now. Its the nickel that I need to work on. Time will only sharpen my skillset.
Check back this Saturday. I’m hunting an old miltary base that was abanden in the 60’s. I’m very excited after I was givien some information by an old timer.
A Day at the Park……
My Final Project!
I feel most comfortable taking nature photographs. Three quarters of the time, I sit in my backyard with my camera and coffee and wait for my backyard friends to forget that I am there. Sometimes I sit in my yard, other times I sit on my deck. Other occasions, I go to parks and find a quiet spot and take pictures.
I took most of my pictures in my backyard and a few others at a local park. All the pictures are of animals in nature doing their normal routine. I always use a shallow aperture with a slow shutter speed so that the pictures have a blurred background. My pictures are always during the day and the subject is always an animal.

Elliott Erwitt Homage
Elliott Erwitt has one of the longest spanning photography careers, over a half of a decade. What makes his work so unique is the irony and humor in his photographs. He does not plan his pictures, he just reacts to what he sees. He basically wanders around and shoots what strikes his eye. His favorite subjects are dogs and children. I love his work!
Here is some of my work:
Elliott Erwitt loves jumping dogs!
I thought this was funny because the photographer in the picture is trying to get the attention of the dog but the dog kept staring at me while I took their picture, unbeknownst to the family!
Interesting photo!
Valiant effort to picture my dog and cat with our unique shirts on! Snuffy was non compliant!
Lily was not happy either getting her picture taken!
This alley cat just sauntered into the photo as I was taking pictures!
